Not many 8-year-old kids know what they want to be when they grow up but watching Perry Mason on TV was Kimberly A. Potter’s Eureka moment. Today, the McCumber Daniels attorney is a force to be reckoned with in civil litigation cases, fiercely debating premises liability, nursing home defense, professional liability, and other third-party liability claims. She also handles contract interpretation plus formation and insurance coverage issues.
After graduating with honors from the University of Central Florida in 1994, Ms. Potter graduated cum laude and 6th in her class at Stetson University College of Law, earning her Juris Doctor in 2000. Along the way, she received numerous recognitions: being “graded on” to the Stetson Law Review by placing in the top 5% of her class, and competing and serving on the Moot Court Board, after winning First Runner Up in the Freshman Oral Advocacy Competition. She has also earned several Book Awards in Constitutional Law, Business Corporations, and Secured Transactions – awards only given to the student who earns the highest grade in the course. Before entering private practice, she clerked for the Honorable Magistrate Judge Elizabeth A. Jenkins in the Middle District of Florida.
When not defending her clients in court, Ms. Potter can be found running along scenic Bayshore Blvd., playing the guitar and piano, reading, and teaching yoga.
